1) Internet connection: Since a relatively large volume of data is transferred from our servers to your computer when a film is streamed, we recommend an Internet connection with a download rate of at least 2 Mbit/s so that the film runs smoothly and without long loading times.
2) Adaptive streaming: if you experience choppy playback, you can change the bandwidth in the player. If you are not sure which setting is best, try the "Auto" setting (default setting), which detects your available bandwidth (adaptive streaming) and adjusts the stream accordingly, even if the bandwidth should fluctuate during playback.
3) Firewall
Other than the quality of your Internet connection, you should check your firewall settings and adjust them to ensure that they do not block or slow down traffic to the sooner server.
4) Ad Blocker, PopUp, Script Blocker: Blockers can conflict with video streaming. If you use such blockers and experience problems with streaming, we recommend that you disable them for testing purposes and then recheck the streaming.
5) Browser update: Is your browser up to date? Older versions of any browser are often not up to standard and can cause playback problems. Please make sure that you are using the latest version of your browser. Try test streaming with another browser. If the problem does not occur on that browser then it is very likely that the problem is limited to a specific browser.
6) Browser extensions
You are using the latest version of a browser and you’re still having problems while streaming? Take a look at your browser extensions. From time to time unwanted add-ons install themselves in the background. To test this, deactivate the add-ons and then try streaming a movie again.
7) Cookies and Third-Party Settings (Browser)
Please check in your browser settings under Content Settings > Cookies. Make sure that "Block third-party cookies" is OFF and "Allow sites to save and read cookie data (recommended)" is ON. If you block third-parties cookies, or disallow sites to read cookies, streaming will not work.
8) Operating System: We try to keep sooner.de compatible with older operating systems but outdated operating systems can cause problems. We recommend that you keep your device up to date with the latest operating system available.
9) WLAN router: A router can also be a source of error. Try restarting your router, it might clear up the problem.
If you have problems playing movies smoothly despite the minimum requirements for your Internet connection, correct firewall settings and an updated browser with cookies enabled, please contact one of our administrators at support@sooner.de immediately - we will help you solve the problem.
